Life through the lens...

Bulrushes

Off bright and early to pick up some more asparagus from the farm.
Then a visit to Ledston Luck ,Yorkshire Wildlife Reserve, to see the orchids.
Another dull cold day. 11C.  Unlike last year when we visited on the 5th June, and the temperatures was 26C.
The orchids were just beginning to flower, and there were no butterflies or dragonflies.  see here
Surprisingly some of the paths were hard and cracked, but still the orchids managed to push through.( see extra shot)
The shot I took of the bulrushes ( see original one in extras) I have used for today's abstract photo, with the help of Picasa. HDR and Heat Map.
Not sure if it fits the theme of "Random", but it was taken at random.

Thanks to youoregan1 for hosting.

We finished off with a "proper" burger, including onions, at a nearby transport cafe called " The Pit Stop".
It always makes us laugh, as it reminds us of Penelope Pitstop, Dick Dastardly, and Muttley.
Who else can remember " Wacky Races"! or  should I say how can you forget if you are the same age as me!!
