Sunday collage

Well, everyone else went home yesterday, but we've got a longer journey northwards so have stayed till today.

An old Green Line bus was picking up passengers on the High Street this morning, we had a chat to the conductor who reeled us out a 5d ticket. But we hadn't time to take the bus to Hatfield.

We bought a 90th birthday cake at Waitrose. These aren't usually available, but someone else is 90 this month. Enjoyed giving it to my Dad - Oh Gawd, was his reaction. He isn't a royalist. But he is going to the party on The Green next Sunday - free food for those born in Stevenage in 1926.

And the sun has finally come out. Mum and Dad's front and back gardens are small, cottagey, full of flowers, and beloved by bees. I always love the Canary bird rose at the front, which is covered in blooms, and the foxgloves at the back look very well. So does the large nettle bed - since she heard that nettles were good for butterflies, a few nettles have spread - perhaps just a bit too much !
