Exquisite Room

I have been at Waddesdon Manor today and, although we started chilly and breezy, the day turned out sunny and warm.  Our visitors were enjoying the grounds and there were lots of picnics.

I was on the entrance door to the House greeting people and taking their bags and bottles into safe keeping whilst they enjoyed the building and its contents.  The sun had really drawn the crowds and tickets for the hose were soon sold out for the day.  Several visitors did expect just to show their National Trust card and walk in, but Waddesdon needs to operate a timed ticket system to control numbers at any one time.

During one of my breaks I nipped out to the Education tent to take a few photographs for them to use in publicity of children having a good time.
All in all it was a very busy day and i was tired by the time i got home.

The blip is of the Red Drawing Room - the first room you will come into when visiting this season.  It is the room where Baron Ferdinand would have greeted the guests at is weekend house parties.  I was distracted by the natural light coming into the room catching the items on show - beautiful so a few quick shots and then onto the main door to greet people.
