Thoughts of a Mummy

By Jaxndm

Time for home.....

5.25pm on a Sunday afternoon and all four little ladies are fast asleep. (I'd like to say all is quiet in the Dixon car, but Aj's snoring is actually louder than the music!). I think that's the sign of a fun filled weekend ;)

A morning swim in the outside swimming pool to show off my amazing "wally tan", a delicious carvery lunch and some arcade time seems to have worn our little ladies out. We're only 20 minutes into our journey.

Yes, you did read right, I have a "wally tan". This is the result of a day on the beach; a day that was mainly cloudy, but clearly the sun was there, it just caught me out. I have beaming red shoulders, chest and arms and what looks like white shorts!

We were introduced to the world of caravan holidays by some very good friends, The Otway's. Our first experience was a week away in a Hoburne static caravan, situated right next to the static caravan they were staying in. It was an amazing week together, the children played along so nicely (the big kids too), and we had such a relaxing and enjoyable time. Since then we have tried to have at least one holiday a year away together.

We each have our own preferences and where possible we are each considerate of them, for example I'm rubbish with heights and Peach isn't keen on beaches. However, upon leaving the caravan today, Peach has said that the one thing that made it for him this weekend was our day on the beach yesterday. A day of playing in the sea, building sandcastles and playing rounders on the beach.

We know that we are very lucky to have this experience, and I'll be honest, the Sun Holiday's vouchers help to make this happen for us. If you're looking for a cheap family weekend away, I'd really recommend the Sun Holiday's. This is our 4th holiday using the vouchers and they make our family holiday's affordable.

Thank you The Otway's for introducing us to so many new things and to showing us how to have the best family holidays.
