Life through the lens...

The Dentelles De Montmirail

We took a different road today, up and over the Col de la Chaine, from Malaucene to Beaumes de Venise, via the tiny hill top village of Suzette.
You can just see it in the distance on the left, with the jagged peaks of the Dentelles behind. (See map)
We stopped several times to admire the views in all directions.
The lime trees are full od blossom at the moment, and there are butterflies and bees everywhere. ( see extra photo)
This is a favourite cycle route, and we met a dutch couple who had also stopped to take photos.
They had electric bikes, which is why it looked so easy for them as they climbed the hill! We just thought they were super fit!

All  breathtaking views, but this was my favourite. The bright yellow broom everywhere is just stunning.
Such a contrast with the green of the trees, and the vines.
The vines you can see in this photo are the muscat grapes which make the special sweet wine the town of Beaumes de Venise is famouse for.
A few bottles were purchased today, before lunch at another little cafe.
A huge assorted chicken salad, followed by apricot panna cotta.

The weather is still hot and sunny, 27C.

Once again your comments, stars and hearts are very much appreciated.
