Life through the lens...

By ValC

Very tiny "escargot".

Far too tiny to eat. but perfect for Tiny Tuesday.

Every morning, when I walk down into the town for our croissants, I pass hundreds of these very tiny snails climbing up the grasses and flowers at the side of the road. They are half the size of a little finger nail. Nothing like the huge things that eat my hostas back home.

It was market day in Vaison, and so this morning we spent stocking up on fresh fruit and vegetables. Very easy to have our five a day ( and more) while we are here.

It was then a short drive to Chez Claudettes, for lunch.
A must to eat here at least once while we are on holiday.
Always have to book, or wait ages for a table.
A great mix of locals, tradesman, vineyard workers, cyclists, walkers, holiday makers of every nationality ( except English. just us.)
The menu of the day is 13 euros.    See extra photos.
Today's main course was a choice of pork, or veal. Both cooked in a casserole, long and slow, with chips.( best ever!)
Fresh fruit salad to finish for MrC and chocolate mousse for me.

Then on the way back we called at Rasteau wine Coperative, and bought our usual boxes of red and rose to bring back to the UK.
It has gone up slightly this year, 19 euros for 10 litres.
As we have a loyalty card ( which we must have signed up for a few years ago) they also gave us 3 free bottles of Cote du Rhone Red.
A nice surprise!

Back now and sat out resting in the shade.
Still very warm and sunny, although we did have a torrential downpour at 7pm yesterday evening. Cleared the air, and it feels much fresher today.
However there are storms forecast for later in the week.

Again many thanks for your kind comments and stars which are much appreciated.
