It was......

.......one of those mornings, completely different from no other.

Thick fog along the beach created a feeling of eeriness as blipper mpp26 and I wandered along. We thought it would melt away when the sun came up but instead it crept in getting thicker and thicker and almost engulfing us. The waves were small and the colours were cold and silvery, certainly had that icy touch. There was a flicker of hope for a sunrise as the sky lightened with a little colour but sadly it didn't linger......however we weren't deterred and carried on, our cameras ready for that magical moment.

After the sun was due to rise, the sky did lighten and we were gobsmacked by our surroundings. Fog everywhere gently mingling with soft delicate colours over the estuary. Birds were calling and heading out to sea, a fisherman was at the river mouth fishing against golden fog, ripples of the river were lit by the sun which was enhancing the fog - it was ever so breath-taking and very difficult to capture.

My bird shots today were useless!! We saw gulls, oyster-catchers, terns, shags, a heron, kingfisher, banded dotterels, godwits, pied stilts and the little black stilt which I seem to have fallen in love with.

Thanks M, I thoroughly enjoyed sharing this magical morning with you, I'm sure had I been alone I would've scurried home as that fog was so eerie :))

Warm thanks to everyone who have stopped by recently. I've appreciated your lovely words, stars and hearts and really hope to be back commenting when time allows. Do take a look at the extras which give a sense of our morning and stop by mpp26, M has got a real beauty of the black stilt along with many other extras of our morning.

Happy Thursday everyone :)
