Pyramidal Orchid

Ben's last AS level exam today - a maths paper which he had had plenty of time to revise for and was relatively happy about. He was smiling when he came out  - it had gone well and he was relieved that at last he could have a break from revision. It seems to have been a long slog, though it'll be even worse next year!

While he was in college I went for a walk round an arable field and hedgerow in Holywell, and then spent a bit of time recording the most gorgeous road-verge nature reserve, full of Rock-rose, Wild-thyme, Salad-burnet, Horseshoe-vetch, Zig-zag Clover, Quaking Grass topped off with a generous scatter of Pyramidal Orchids, the first of the year.

In the afternoon Pete, Ben and I went into Peterborough to by some clothes and also enjoyed a cup of coffee at Bewiched. Ben then went off to help celebrate a  friend's birthday at the pub, and we finished the day by having a celebratory Chinese take-away, at Ben's request. A good day all round!
