Leaving Shetland

One last (short) day in Shetland after striking camp at the cottage this morning. We've poked along some lane ends and been to one startlingly beautiful north facing beach (Maywick) where this photograph was taken. I am now blipping using the 3 modem on the Knab above Lerwick facing out to sea and appreciating the peace and quiet apart from a couple of birds chirruping and a gentle sound of the wind and the sea. I will really really miss this when I get back to Edinburgh.

We shall conclude our stay here by visiting the Shetland Museum, hoping to get some lunch in their excellent restaurant in order to save ourselves the indignities of Northlink Ferries food which definitely does not rate as highly as Calmac ferry food.

And we will be back. Oh yes, we will.
