Gently down the stream

The campaigner

Oddly enough, I’m not making a political point here.

I’m just hoping that after the appalling tragedy last week, the gentle style of campaigning seen here might get the upper hand.  This was the Buttercross this morning, with local campaigners talking in quiet voices.  Previously it’s been national politicians on this spot, with henchmen who knock the opposition off the steps and punch young lads.  (No, really, the police are investigating.)

So although something quite different was planned for today this seemed more relevant to how I felt.  The campaigner with her inner core of certainty and yes her moral compass – unfortunately not quite the sort of strength I’d ever claim.

Hope your weekend’s been a good one and that the start of the week goes well   xx
