A Lovely, Long Walk

A green tunnel,
a leafy lane,
a babbling brook
and the sea

Butterflies, moths,
summer flowers:
so much to look
at and see

This is straight out of the camera, no photoshopping. That swirly circle in the centre is exactly how the green lane appeared as we walked along it, leading from Strete, via Bowden to Stoke Fleming, then downhill to Blackpool Sands (and a Magnum!) and uphill back to Strete. About five or six miles, all told, over 3 hours, with just one short rain shower, halfway up the steepest part of the hill home. (I took over two dozen photos - that's after deleting the non-runners.) Saw a couple of butterflies - both small heaths - and a few moths. One (I think) was a green carpet moth on a holly leaf. If anyone can identify it, please, it's today's Extra.

Now it's time for cheese soufflé and green beans, followed by strawberries and cream. And a lovely evening, as the sun has finally broken through!
