Bird Bonanza today!

Friday 24th June 2016       (backblip)

Woke up this morning to find that the Leave vote had won ....... talk about a surprise ...... never imagined it would go this way ....... obviously a lot of strong feeling around! Hope things get sorted quickly so life can return to normal.

We were greeted by this young male as we went onto the decking this morning ...... he was good enough to pose for me ..... albeit briefly!

We set off this afternoon to visit Doxey Marshes ...... as we had almost reached our destination ...... the skies opened! Typical ...... so instead we carried on into Stafford for some 'retail therapy'!

We returned late afternoon ..... by which time the sun was shining again ..... so we headed off for a walk around Penkridge Edge ..... this area is being regenerated into heath ...... there is an old quarry there also.

We spent quite a while listening to this Willow Warbler singing in the sunshine ..... I thought it looked beautiful against the blue sky :-)

We also saw a Whitethroat & a Yellowhammer ....... watched the Swallows swooping & saw a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers ....... a very enjoyable walk :-)

Later that evening ..... standing outside on the decking watching the bats & listening to a pair of Tawny Owls calling ...... we heard the Vixen calling to her cubs & the cubs answering ....... fabulous! :-)

Thanks so much for the lovely comments, stars & hearts on my last 3 backblips .... really cuffed you liked them :-)

Thanks so much for dropping by :-)
