If you can't beat them...

Dog Rose.

I enjoyed my usual lie in and lazy Sunday morning but after lunch all that had to change!  There are lots of jobs in the garden that are long over due in getting done.  While the weather wasn't good it was at least dry so we made a start.

For a number of years Clickychick has had a "thing" against cutting the trees and bushes hard back.  Finally she has realised (with a bit of prompting from Katkatkat) that unless dealt with they were in danger of getting out of hand.  So we made a start on the Crab Apple.  One long branch was over hanging the lawn and dropping making mowing difficult.

The branch was removed cut into handleable pieces and then we made a trip to the tip recycling centre.  As usual for a Sunday there was a steady stream of car pulling up at the "Trees and Greens" skip and as usual the huge skip was almost full to the brim.  CC suggested we stop to take some shots of Blencathra.  There was a problem with that!  From the gateway she suggested you can't see the mountain!

However there were some beautiful Dog Roses which I haven't blipped this year.  These ones were a particularly nice pink.  Dog Roses are extremely variable with over 60 different types/varieties having been identified.
