Quod oculus meus videt

Late Evening Stroll

It's still easier to watch the sun set than rise at the moment.  After a day in and out of the office, I decided a bit of exercise was in order and headed for the countryside.  I watched with interest as a sparrow hawk quartered a field, dropping down in stages over its prey until it was hovering just a few feet above the ground.  I hoped I might capture some shots, but the bird's sixth sense kept it away from me.  I always thought landscape photographers had to have patience but it pales against that needed by the nature photographer.
