Lake Lure, North Carolina

I took my visitor Joyce (njoyce68) to see the North Carolina mountains today.  Her first time there and we drove all around..362 miles, 11 hours of road trip!   Lucky for us we escaped the nearly 100 degrees here in South Carolina and were treated to a moderate 75 and mostly cloudy.   

This is Lake Lure which is located about 30 miles from Asheville.  Nestle in the heart of the mountains with Chimney Rock State Park a short ride away.   

We also visited Campbell's Covered Bridge (the only one in SC, and Poinsett Bridge, a stone bridge that used to be the old road between Greenville and Asheville.  Those photos in the extras.
