Surely the very essence of tautology?

Pick one...

Essence
1. The intrinsic or indispensable properties that serve to characterize or identify something.
2. The most important ingredient; the crucial element.
3. The inherent, unchanging nature of a thing or class of things.
4.a. An extract that has the fundamental properties of a substance in concentrated form.
b. Such an extract in a solution of alcohol.
c. A perfume or scent.

Tautology
tautologies
1.
a. Needless repetition of the same sense in different words; redundancy.

Couldn't help but wonder, disregarding the ''Essence'' bit: why, on the right, it's merely ''Rose''. (Which bit of the plant?) However, on the left it's necessary to tell us it's both a blossom and a flower.

You mean there's a difference?

I had to look up both, to be sure, to be sure.
''Blossom'', it seems only gets a mention in conjunction with retail, weddings, etc. or, alternatively ...''Blossom was an American sitcom broadcast on NBC from...........''

A flower, however....
''A flower, sometimes known as a bloom or blossom, is...........''

DUH?!?!?
