Sparkle...

Manchester is famous for its LGBT community. It's developed to the point where it's so integrated into the life of th city that its traditional area around Canal Street is increasingly blurred.

This weekend though is one of the times when it's more visible than it usually is, when the annual Sparkle event takes place. It's a celebration of the transgender community and attracts people from all over the country. It's a kind of precursor to the Manchester Pride event at the end of August.

I thought that these ladies had made a particular effort with their outfits. Great use of coordinating the colour, red.
