Small Tortoiseshell

We had our walk late morning - it wasn't too warm for Finlay, although he did enjoy his paddle and drink in the beck on the way home!

I have been playing with the (newly discovered) zoom macro function on my old Panasonic TZ10 so today we have another close up shot.

The butterfly landed on the grass in front of us - was still for a few seconds, just long enough to grab one shot and then it was gone!

I also got a shot of rather prickly looking caterpillar - in extras today.
