We headed homewards this morning via the Zotter factory which is a well known chocolate maker in the Steiermark. A family owned business, they use only organic products and fair trade sources. Their chocolate is produced from cocoa beans imported from the Mayans in Belize on the eastern coast of Central America. The impressive tour of the factory is self guided with many tasting stations from the raw beans through to the finished product. They also practise sustainability by growing vegetables and raising animals for products to be used in the restaurants and sold in the shop. About 180 amazing products can be tasted during the tour - I may be ready for more chocolate in a day week or two. A link can be found here.
We drove into a thunderstorm on the Autobahn which dumped 60 litres / square metre in 10 minutes, according to the radio. Amazingly, the drivers behaved themselves and the traffic flowed well although it was slower than normal.
The rain eased when we we near to home and we stopped to blip these rather creative sculptures made from haystacks - see extras
