Escape from the city

Long drive from Phenom Penh to Siem Reap - nice to see a bit of the countryside but for those contemplating the trip I suggest you fly!

A brief stop at a temple, currently being renovated in partnership with a Japanese university, broke the journey. Small, but gave us a taster of things to come...

Arrived in time to go to a wonderful vegan restaurant for dinner which serves traditional Khmer dishes without the animal products. AMAZING! Planning a return visit tomorrow evening ... And my travel companion is a confirmed meat eater! :D
