A Slow Day..

It's been one of those slow days, where we've just taken it easy and enjoyed some time with the family.  Later on we sat in the garden and from time to time I walked round with the macro lens and it was during one of these walkabouts that I blipped this insect. I'm guessing it's a hoverfly, but I'm not up in insects so I could easily be wrong  -   I found it nestled in the centre of a rose, although that's not apparent here.

P.S.  AJC has kindly identified this as a Syrphus sp. hoverfly.
