There be Pirates

Tintin and Captain Haddock were sailing on the Aurora to the Island of Waimorakiratutu as they had heard there had been some strange goings on when the pirates that they had managed to avoid leaving Nelson last week ambushed them and took them prisoner.

These were not particularly nice Pirates.  You will know the ones that come from the Melaleucati Straights are particularly nasty and that is just where this lot came from.  You never want to cross Melaleucati pirates that’s for sure.

Well horrors, they sank the Aurora to the very bottom of the sea but Snowy, Hamish and Poppy escaped on a life raft.  The dogs had provisions on board and were just working out how to attempt a rescue when a friendly pod of dolphins swam past.  Fortunately the dogs were able to speak to the dolphins who agreed to help them.   Dogs are so much better at communicating than humans aren't they.   The dolphins towed them to where the Pirates were and here you see them working on the ropes that were tying Tintin and Captain Haddock together.

Unfortunately, the Pirates who had been sleeping off a rather large dose of rum woke up and caught the dogs in their rescue attempt.   The dogs were too good for the pirates and together with the dolphins, soon had them overboard, into the life raft and trussed up like turkeys.  Tintin and Captain Haddock were freed and they began the long journey to the Island of Waimorakiratutu.
