Capturing my Journey

Grass is Cut!!

Finally a moment in dryish weather to mow our grass! It was turning into a jungle! Feeling very tired today as well as the effects of dehydration, i did drink a lot yesterday but still not enough! Sisse (the german wirehaired pointer we are looking after) just had an impromptu outdoor bath as she kindly rolled in dead bird when I was putting the mower away. She is very tolerant of it all and even let me trim her beard that had become a bit tatty. It looks like she is to stay for at least another couple of weeks. Also had to go down the road for dog and poultry food as we were just about out.

Amazing lightening last night with the thunderstorms. I saw it approaching when I shut in the hens and ducks and told husband to unplug everything having lost a modem and computer to lightning strikes before. Put thundershirts on the two most upset dogs and rescue remedy all round, watched a little bit of the show but was so tired I honestly just crawled into bed and fell asleep, even when we had round two of the storm later!

Husband is busy fitting new mower blades for the big grass mower for cutting the silage. Hoping to get a start on it next week, weather permitting as always.

16c overcast and misty with rain at times, clearing in the afternoon.
