Air show ice cream

As all seasoned air display pilots and crews will tell you, ice cream is an obligatory staple for any summer air show.

RAF Odiham Families Day was the venue for today's commentary gig with the Turb Team. Plenty of helicopters and a clamber inside a Chinook, ice cream, lunch in the junior mess and barnstorming fun from the Turbs made for a great day.

Lovely to catch up with my friend Andy who is one of the RAF veterans I met when promoting The Not Forgotten Association in 2011 as part of Typhoon Display Team sponsorship for Mazda (the company I worked for at the time).

Andy had a VIP tour of the Turbs and tried one for size. Tomorrow is his microlight General Flight Test so he'll be a pilot too! I've been promised a flight :)

Three hours squashed in the crew van in M25 traffic coming home was the least fun aspect of the day but we enjoyed our curry take away all the more for the wait!
