A Saturday Drive

Not to waste a free
day, we drove to Adams Lake
and home for dinner!

We came back to the house after breakfast to collect my camera. We set off on Westsyde Road past the McClure Ferry and onto Barriere. We drove east of Agate Bay Road to Adams Lake and then out to the TransCanada Highway to head west back to Kamloops.

The route takes us through some beautiful forested areas. Some still bear the scars of fire from 2003. I was puzzled by the man-sized rooster on Westsyde Road. I had not travelled the Agate Bay Road before. It becomes a gravel road as it climbs above Adams Lake. Lots of deer to be seen. We stopped as one crossed in front of us and then it munched along the roadside quite unconcerned about our presence. Beautiful farm and ranchland along that route.

Our last stop was the small Anglican church, St. Peter's, on the east side of Kamloops. It was built as a dedication to a son lost in WWI.

I called ahead for a pizza to pick up on our way home. Done!
