Metallic Green Sweat Bee

Agapostemon, called sweat bee because they are attracted to human perspiration. Apparently they are quite common, but I've never seen one before and thought I was looking at a cross between an iridescent fly and a bee. I had to google, "Are there green bees?" when we got home. We walked the beach trail at the state park north of town, and it was spectacularly exhaustingly windy. The only relief was at this one little sheltered area of weeds that was humming with insects.
