Quod oculus meus videt

Finished?

I hadn't managed to lift a camera until about 8 pm tonight so decided to share the new kitchen, now it is substantially finished.  We still have some snagging to go but nothing you could see in the image will change when these items are put right.

Can't say it was the most enjoyable experience I've ever had, in no small part due to the poor project management of the company.  To start a project, knowing that the tiler was going to be on holiday just as he was required smacked of a lack of consideration to the client.  To have a plasterer cry off installing a new ceiling at 24 hours notice, within 12 hours of starting the project did not bode well either.  The lack of respect in terms of the impact of the works on us, and our neighbours, left us extremely disappointed.  It took the gloss of a kitchen that should last us for 20 years or more.

Having said that I am really enjoying using the new appliances. I'm a total convert to induction hobs, incredible and oh, so controllable.  Better than gas, no argument.  The bank of ovens worked out well and are a pleasure to use, complete with a 'slide n' hide' oven, a la 'Bake Off'.

I think that might be the end of major projects in the house for this year (or decade?).
