Athabasca Falls

Leaving Hinton for the last time, today we drove back down the fabulous Icefield Parkway to our next accommodation in Canmore. Having missed the Athabasca Falls last time, we made sure to visit this time. Despite being only 70km from the source, a huge volume of water has already joined the river creating this massively powerful set of waterfalls. The river has gorged it's way through the hard rock layer to the other side.
