A bit late in the day.....

..... for bird photography, especially as the sky was closing in, getting ready for more rain tonight.

The rain held off all afternoon, which was great, because we transplanted a fig tree from a sunless spot to a much better lit area.  I was surprised at how shallow rooted it is, but that may be a bonus because its new home is in very poor soil.  I shall have to feed it well.

I also found a badly broken storm water pipe leading from our roof catchment, and that will have to be fixed quick smart.

This little bird is a New Holland Honey Eater who is a starter for the Alternative Olympic Games due to start at the AOG Stadium in New Jersey very soon.  Team New Holland has been assured that the athletes village is sparkling clean and brand spanking new, despite the depredations of Team Black Bear who tried to wreck the whole thing.

Team New Holland will be competing in the aerial insect catching event, and are the favourites to win gold.
