Breaking News Update

Your intrepid reporter is on the scene this morning, reporting all the latest news from the AOG Stadium here in northern NJ.  As the final countdown to the Alternative Olympic Games starts, more and more athletes are gathering here at the Stadium.  I'll try to recap today's news...assisted by one of the members of Team TUTI (tufted titmouse), seen above.

Big news at the Stadium this morning when the avian athletes showed up at the Clothesline Cafe to find it lying on the ground in pieces.  Witnesses all agreed that Team Black Bear was responsible and as a consequence, they have been banned from the Games!  Officials are busy getting alternative feeding arrangements set up for the athletes!

It looks like Team House Finch may have the honor of singing the National Anthem at the opening ceremonies. The challenge will be that the younger members of the team can't carry a note and drive all the other athletes crazy with their begging and whining.

The members of Team Chippie are still skating on thin ice in regards to their conduct in the cafeteria.  There are allegations of food hoarding and, judging from the shot in Extra, I'm inclined to agree.

Team Cedar Waxwing sent two representatives to check out the berry situation as they are keen to enter the Berry Gobbling competition. Not sure that the arrangements met with their approval - time will tell.  And Team Warbler sent in a small yellow representative for reasons not known.  If Team House Wren is able to get their babies to leave the next during the Games, there may well be a heated competition in the Tail Bobbing category, between the wrens and the catbirds.

Yes, folks, it's non-stop action here at the AOG NJ Stadium.  This reporter, however, will be taking the afternoon/evening off to celebrate birthdays with her human friends.  Let's just hope nothing untoward happens during my absence...

PS:  And if you aren't up to speed on the AOG, please read my journal entry HERE, explaining the games.  And please do check the other correspondent's reports from around the globe at AOG2016

PPS:  After blipping, a heavy rain came through which made all the hummingbirds go completely berserk.  I've posted three photos on Flickr, starting HERE.  Worth a look if you like hummers.  And not like any photos I've ever gotten before!  Made me wish I hadn't already blipped...
