Life's Little Moments

It's not what you think!

You're thinking bug porn, right?  C'mon, I know you are.  But you're wrong - these two banded longhorns are trying out for the 2016 Alternative Olympic Games in the category of Mixed Pairs Pollen Snogging.  Really.  I wouldn't kid about something like this.

Some of you remember several years ago, during the 2014 Winter Olympics, I hosted the Blip version of the games, the Alternative Olympic Games (AOG for short).  We had entries from all over the world, representing both summer and winter games featuring wildlife of all kinds.  I've been asked several times over the last few days if we'd be having out own nature version of the games again this year and the answer is a resounding YES!  So, start getting your athletes into training.
We'll tag all entries  leading up to the Games as AOG2016 so we can find them all easily.  Once the Games begin on 5 August, each day should be tagged AOG followed by the date, so AOG5, AOG6, etc.  There aren't really any rules except to feature wildlife of some sort (birds, animals, insects) and to let your imagination run wild.  If you want some inspiration, feel free to check out the entries from the 2014 AOG by clicking on the link above.

Dates for the AOG2016 will coincide with the actual human Olympic Games - Opening Ceremonies commence 5 August and closing ceremonies will be held on 21 August.  More details as we get closer, but feel free to post and tag some images now of your athletes training.

This will also be my entry for this week's Tiny Tuesday, hosted by our very own WalkingWombat

Thank you so very much for helping me celebrate yesterday for my 1,825 consecutive blip!  You sent P-Hummie to the third spot on the Pops page, right next to Hilly, which is kind of appropriate since Hilly and I have, in fact, sat next to each other photographing all number of things...

Cheers, people
