Life in Sunny Dubai

Bodleian

We have had a big day today in Oxford. Managed to get a booking on a CS Lewis house tour for 2pm, so had whatever of the morning to have a look around Oxford. G's been wanting to go back to the Bodleian Library for ages, so today, we did!

I saw an original Guthenberg Bible! Got into the Reading Room again, and it is just magnificent. The fan vaulting is some of the best I've ever seen We were fortunate that towards the end, the room was almost empty. It drizzled almost all the time we were there, so not a lot of walking around done as a result. I have identified on-street parking very close to the city centre which I am very pleased about. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for G to visit Blackwell's bookstore. I wouldn't have seen her for a few hours if she went in there.

Headed over to Risinghurst to The Kilns. There were 11 people altogether on the tour which I think is as big a group as you can have. Got some interesting facts about CS Lewis's life and thoughts.

Then heading back to home, we took a slight detour (via Trowbridge - as you do!!). G needed to pick up a prescription and had to go to her clinic. A good and productive day then.
