Angel and the Southbank skyline

This interesting work of art, a sculpture of a two headed fantasy creature inlaid with hundreds of ceramic tiles depicting all forms of life, stands at the Yarra River north bank in the Birrarung Marr park next to the Federation Square in Melbourne. It was done by Deborah Halpern, originally as a commission by the National Gallery of Victoria for the Bicentennial and stood outside the NGV at first. In the distance the Soutbank skyline with the spire of the Arts Centre and the tallest building of melbourne, the Eureka Tower, this is the building where fellow Blipper Walking Wombat will do the vertical run up later this month !
