Gently down the stream

The full jungle

I haven't taken many pictures in my garden this year.  It's been very pretty I think, but does need a bit of a hack back.  The things I've enjoyed most have been the new piece of grass, a newly dug out (very short, I'm-not-the-Duke-of-Westminster) border and the Gertrude Jekyll rose, which flowered wonderfully earlier in the summer and has just started flowering again.

The rose here, though, is from one of four wonderfully fragrant Rose de Recht bushes, together with pelargoniums, crocosmia, jasmine, phlox, Canterbury bells and cranesbill.  The full jungle, you might say.  I needed it to stand in because instead of walking I've spent the day socialising mostly, including a cup of coffee with an old friend and a cup of tea with my old gent.

Sorry I'm a bit behind with commenting.  Will begin the catch-up now.  And thanks so much for your patience  xx
