ANOTHER BUSY DAY

Its just after midnight and I finally have a chance to post my blip.  Such a busy day its tricky trying to remember what I have done but here goes.

Becky, mIke and me left the house around 10am and drove down to Swalwell and set off along The Derwent Walk.  Part of the route is along the old disused railway line adjacent to the River Derwent.  The railway line path is straight and flat but once you leave it there are steep steps and rough terrain. My blip shot shows Becky about to descend some very steep steps.  We walked for quite some time before stopping off at the Thornley Woods Visitor Centre where there is a cafe.   After our refreshments were carried on along the other side of the river and finally got back to where we started.  Mike checked the route and we had done 7 miles.( My knees were sore by this time )

Then we made the short drive to another cafe - Pedalling Squares in Swalwell - a cafe with a cycling theme.  Becky and Mike had paninis with cold drinks.  Wasn't anything suitable for me to eat so I just had a cappuccino.

Then we drove to Aldi to buy food for the BBQ tomorrow. Then finally back home to put our feet up for a bit.

Around 7pm we walked down to the village to have a drink in THe Gibside Hotel.  A little later Neil met us there after he had finished work.  Then we all went to Deano's - an Italian Trattoria.  I chose salmon and shrimps in a creamy tomato sauce with vegetables.  Three of us resisted the puds but Neil was tempted by the profiteroles.

Funny thing happened in Deanos - the waiter said he thought Neil looked like someone famous but wouldn't tell us who he thought it was.  So we have been puzzling about it all evening.  We were going to ask the waiter to tell us but his shift had finished and he had gone home.  So I have put a shot of Neil as an Extra - any ideas as to which famous person he might look like???.

After Deano's we went to Wetherspoons for a final drink before making our way home.

Got home just in time to see GB win another Gold medal in the cycling.

Neil went to bed early as he needs to be at work at 8am tomorrow.

Becky and Mike are doing a Park Run tomorrow morning which starts at 9am so we will need to be up early too.

Apologies for lack of comments - I haven't had any time to check out anyone's blip shots today. Will catch up as soon as I can.

Steps today - 24,501
