Flying.....

...wish it was me, sadly not today.

Just popped down to the local airfield with hubby and was taken by the backdrop of the Puketeraki Range. Usually a very quiet airfield, today a R44 helicopter was lifting off and a Corby Starlet was taxing.

The Corby Starlet is a single seat, amateur-built aeroplane designed in the 1960s by Australian aeronautical engineer John Corby. The structure is primarily wood and finished with fabric.

The older hangers of the airfield are tucked behind these newer ones, you can see how dry the airfield is, it doesn't bare thinking about how it will look come summer.

Thank you for all the words, stars and hearts over the last few days, so kind and very much appreciated. I'm thrilled you enjoyed yesterday's 'cross country flight' and bit of a yarn, today flight of a different kind.

The extra is a landscape of the airfield and beyond, looking west with pockets of blue sky mingling with cloud, lovely to feel the sun upon my back,12C and calm.

Happy Monday everyone :)
