Proud

Standing on the podium with the Blue flag rising aloft into the stadium, to the strains of the  Blues Butterfly anthem, amid cheers and positive squeals of delight from the crowd, Bosley confided to me afterwards that it was the proudest moment of his life.

Winner of the 1000m Butterfly and Moth Flit over the stadium by an antennae, it was a moment that will go down in the history books. What an achievement for such a small butterfly setting a new world record, beating Marcus Marbled White in the final dash to the finish with Ruby Tiger Moth winging in for the Bronze medal. A very exciting culmination to the day's events.

Interviewing Bosley Blue immediately after the presentation, he paid tribute to TM (Team Moth) who had trained vigorously coming to the AOG (Alternate Olympic Games) in the peak of condition and had put up a splendid show. With watery eyes his voice cracking with emotion he thanked his Manager, his coach, his parents, his partner, his children and all the Blues out there for their support over this year! He said he couldn't have done it without them!!

The whole race is available to watch on Sky Catch Up this evening.
