An Awesome Day At The Fringe

A full day of festival activities was had. Our first show was a comedian in the attic of a pub. Very small venue but the act was good.
Next we went to a free show featuring a hypnotist/ mind reader called Aaron Calverton.  Similar type of act to Colin Cloud. Again a very entertaining act. After that we found a leaflet for another free show featuring a couple of magicians dressed up as old German men. If I'm honest it wasn't that great but it was a free show and you get what you pay for.

Our evening was filled with music (and Booze) with our first evening show called Showstoppers. An improvised musical.
Every day they make up an entire musical from scratch based on suggestions from the audience.
It was amazing. Our audience suggested Noahs ark and various musical styles and an entire performance was improvised before our eyes. If you didn't know any better you'd think the whole thing was perfectly scripted and rehearsed. Absolutely amazing.

After the musical improv we went for musical awesomeness. The Axis Of Awesome!
They played a brilliant show. Hilarious and they addressed the elephant in the room quite well. (The elephant being that the lead singer until February was a man)
We bought their album and got it autographed and took the picture above.

A truly awesome day. Great shows, good laughs and we had a hell of a lot of drinks!

Sadly we're only here for a couple of days and tomorrow we shall be homeward bound. Really glad we came down, we could easily have spent the whole month in Edinburgh and done something different every day. Bank balance wouldn't hold up tho.
Home tomorrow to finish painting the decking.
