AOG21 - Closing Ceremony

These peacock butterfly caterpillars were making their way to the closing ceremony across their  home patch of stinging nettles. Last minute checks with the damselfly routines were going on on the pond. And the butterflies and micro moths were stocking up on nectar before the big event this evening. This reporter is signing off from Jersey and has had a great time covering the AOG16. Thanks dbifulco for hosting a wonderful challenge.

In other news we've had very high tides and high winds over the last couple of days but it's dropping now as well as clouding over. I didn't expect to see many insect around down the track and I certainly didn't expect to see even more peacock caterpillars on the stinging nettles behind the pond. It looks like it could be a bumper crop of butterflies if the caterpillars survive.
