Demolition

This building used to have a privately run grocery shop downstairs and the owners lived on the top floor. There was a delicatessen counter where ham would be sliced for you by Margaret. Then the store was sold to the Co-op - who then took over a larger Alldays store in the next block and closed the shop in this building, which was then taken over by a double glazing firm. They moved out a couple of years ago and the whole building deteriorated with rain coming through the roof forming green puddles on the concrete floor, which was sad to see. Now it's being demolished to make way for flats (so I've heard).

When you live in a village for 26 years, this is part of the change you see, I guess. I still feel a bit sad about it though.
