My Day, My Life

Human Racing

Well what looked like a 100% guaranteed rain off turned into a beautiful English summers evening.

And in the space of 2 hours too!

We arrived at our hotel, mid-afternoon and the weather looked favourable.

But boy oh boy did it change!

Within 20 minutes the skies darkened, the lightning flashed, very-very close to us! the thunder RUMBLED extremely loudly and the heavens unleashed a torrential downpour!

2 Hours later...

We're 10 minutes along the road, at Leicester Lions Speedway Stadium, along with hundreds of other optimistic fans all probably wondering just how on earth the track is ready for racing.

The car park was flooded, the fields approaching the track looked flooded. The centre green was partially flooded!

But the track staff performed a miracle and produced a race-worthy surface.

We almost had the win in the bag!

But at the last gasp, last race, we were beaten by 1 point 45-44.

I don't we'll be so charitable when they come to our track this Friday.

Anyway tomorrow is another day and we'll be off to Wolverhampton Speedway, for some Elite League Racing.

CONGRATULATIONS to Andy Murray on a magnificent win over Roger Federer.

The eyes of the world were on you and you did your country proud!

The sweet taste of victory, Olympic Victory at that!
