Training Run

We were in Sweden for the O-Ringen, the largest multi-day orienteering event in the world. This year more than 20000 people were entered, and it was held in the hills near Sälen in Dalarna. Although this sounds an awful lot of people, the start window is over 5 and half hours from several different places, and you sometimes see absolutely no one. We picked up our bibs and a couple of training area maps yesterday and set off today to look at the different mapping style they employ in Sweden. We went to the hill area of Flatfjället near Tandådalen to get an idea of the open terrain 3 and half days would be run on. It was very instructive and also allowed us to bag the top as well. The blip is from near the top looking south. We then went to a forested are to check out the terrain for the other one and a half days. It was very warm.
