The Lookout, Kilmuir

We decided to risk the weather and go to see the garden, The Lookout, not far from us in Kilmuir. It featured on The Beechgrove Garden a few weeks ago and I've been wanting to go for ages so today being the last opening of the session we took a chance.
We were so lucky as the sun shone brightly for the whole of our visit. It was hard to pick a blip and the photos did nt really do the garden justice. We wandered along the tiny pathways, up steep steps getting higher and higher with great views over the Moray Firth. Plenty of seats of all kinds to sit and admire the view and take in the plants and wildlife. Every space was filled with interesting flowers.I think the whole population of the Black Isle butterflies must have been here including Red Admirals, peacocks, cabbage whites and painted ladies.
We enjoyed a cup of tea and a really good scone and cake sitting in the little court yard still in the sunshine.
We walked back to the car and the rain started. For the rest of the afternoon we drove through several more heavy showers and then back into the sun.
The light was on one of my favourite crofts and it was surrounded by cows and one little calf.
