A new month and some new friends...

Dear Diary,

A new month begins and an new friend showed up at Auntie's Tree this morning.  It is not Gaylord, the tail is too long and thin and has a bit of a pointy end.  Also, the face is all wrong.  You know what your friends look like for heaven's sake!  No, definitely a new kid on the block.  I will set out peanuts this morning and hope he, or she, returns.  A tiny baby bunny also visited, extra photo.  Not easy to photograph it but a delight to see.

Seeing the first grey squirrel is a sign that fall is approaching although it certainly doesn't feel like it today...so warm and the air heavy with oppressive humidity.  There is a tropical storm coming up the coast which accounts for that but it won't reach us here in Maine although we could surely use the rain.

It was so nice to get home to Emerson late yesterday afternoon!  I think he really misses me when I go on these little trips.  Today I pick up the bound family chronicles....so exciting!
