The Edge of the Wold

Gold aHoy

Another one of those layery shots across the Bay, this time from Jack Scout looking across the Kent Channel towards Kents Bank and the western Lake District beyond. The setting sun was bathing the fells and mudflats in golden light, which seemed appropriate for another Gold Rush day for Team GB.

My apologies if I haven't yet acknowledged the comments and hearts left on yesterday's Beyond the Bay shot. Thank you. I will try and catch up soon. In the meantime, some people who have been to Morecambe Bay say they have not seen the Bay looking like that. It's a phenomenon seen at low tide, in the late evening when the sediments of the Bay pick up the colours of the sky. Sometimes, there are blues, pinks and yellows picking out slight differences in the heights and saturation of the mudbanks.
