Desirable Property.

We had a very pleasant Monday walk around Thornton. Starting in the village we walked down through the cemetery and across the road to the fields beyond.

It was a climb up towards the main Queensbury road but we followed lanes that brought us down to the lovely hamlet of West Scholes.

This is West Scholes Hall and it is for sale. I was attracted to it as it from the same era as my childhood home at Hallas Hall in Cullingworth. The date the over the door says 1694 (the same period) and it has the typical mullioned windows plus the little round window over the door is the same. Above the date it has the initials WHIH. Lovely garden fron and back too.
Have I sold it to you?

From here we walked down through green lanes and woods to cross the golf course alongside Thornton Viaduct which is part of the The Great Northern Trail like the one at Hewended Viaduct, Cullingworth. Sadly they still don't connect up.

Being Monday we had refreshments. This time at the White Horse at Well Heads above Thornton village. Very nice it was too. Thank you C and R another good walk and day out.
( Another great thing about today was not having to go back to school at the beginning of term! My thoughts are with you all especially Grace. x)
