Nicky and her Nikon

A productive day

As expected it started raining last night and rained all through the night. This morning there was low cloud and it actually looked quite pretty although the light was flat. Behind those low clouds there was a sprinkling of snow.

We were up early to meet the builders at 9am, and we managed to sort through all the issues. On Wednesday they will be breaking through into our apartment so we have also met with someone who will be supervising it in our absence - the thought of all the dust filtering through the apartment gets me in a real state but they assured me that everything will be covered with plastic and done very neatly - knowing the high standard of these Swiss builders I am sure that will be the case. There is also the security risk of our apartment being open but that has also been discussed and a plan is in place. It was very important that we came out here to sort through these matters, even though it seems a long way to go.

We had a salad for lunch at our favourite cafe and we are now waiting at the airport to go home again.

We phoned Luke (using FaceTime audio) and he has had a very interesting day, visiting 3 different factories and then doing some market research. He certainly is getting a flavour of all sorts of things that this company does. He made me laugh describing the city, it seems dirt roads with no traffic signs for a capital city are a far cry from what he is used to in London! Last night he went down to the hotel restaurant for supper and somehow he got caught up with a jolly and welcoming family's new year celebrations (its their new year this weekend which seems a peculiar time). He said it was all quite bizarre but he enjoyed himself and the food was good!
