x-t2 Day

After 3-4 months of anticipation, the Fuji x-t2 camera was released today. A rather higher spec than its predecessor, the x-t1, with faster autofocus and more megapixels, Fuji aficionados are claiming that this is a real game changer in the challenge of mirrorless cameras to dslrs.

I'd asked for mine to be delivered tomorrow, but it arrived by ParcelForce this afternoon. I'd sold an x-t1, a 50-200mm lens and my trusty 18-55 mm lens to offset against the cost.

Naturally, I took it for a road test. See photo above taken in the garden this afternoon.

The clarity of the shot compares with Canon and the autofocus is noticeably faster than the x-t1, but you know, my Canon with a macro lens has the edge. I must do more testing with a long lens attached. Fuji doesn't have what I consider to be a trusty macro lens yet. There's a 60mm lens which I must try before being absolutely definitive.

Lovely day again. Swimming for senior citizens at Shepshed Swimming Pool didn't materialise. Not enough interest from Shepshed senior citizens. How many knew about it?

Popped into Loughborough for prawns this morning and bought Aziz a coffee from the mobile van. The lady was telling customers that they should get a ring polished. I interjected that Aziz was a jeweler, that he worked with silver and makes his own jewelery. The barista was agog. All the years that the Berber Shop has been there, she hadn't realised. She just thought he sold clothes and bags. Aziz was stunned too. I suggested that he should put a notice up in his window describing what he did.

To Clifford's in the afternoon to photograph begonias and to ELAPs in the evening to collect damsons from Geoff. Damson gin is the next project.
