Beautiful Bosham

Today I attended a landscape workshop with Charlie Waite in Bosham, near Chichester. Charlie Waite is one of the world's leading landscape photographers, he has won all sorts of awards and this summer was even invited by the Royal Academy of Arts to exhibit at their Summer Exhibition. Given his fame and pedigree I was not expecting him to be as nice as he was (sometimes fame can lead to arrogance!) He is such a lovely man and was very helpful and encouraging at all times.

We met at the Bosham Gallery where he firstly discussed aspects of landscape photography, and this was followed by the gallery owner (also a photographer) discussing how one goes about exhibiting one's work. We then went out and walked around the creek, which was at low tide, taking photos. Charlie did not even bring a camera and spent the whole time focused on helping us - this was much appreciated, as many other course leaders tend to spend the day taking their own photos in addition to giving a bit of guidance.

After lunch we walked to the other side of the creek and watched the changing light on the landscape. The sky had lovely texture and although it was very windy, it did not rain.

It was a great day and I have come home with some photos that I am pleased with. I hope to go back during winter to get the misty morning scenes. I have added two more extras.
