Looking west

So much to do in the flat, and lots of admin. to tackle - but it was such a glorious afternoon that MrM and I decided to abandon all thoughts of domestic stuff and work, and to walk up Humbleton Hill instead. After all, it would be a shame not to take advantage of this late summer weather.

It's not a high hill - only 298m - but there are wonderful views from the top in all directions, and has the advantage that we can walk there from the flat. The view in the blip is looking west from the top, across Monday Cleugh (the deep cleft in the hillside) to Yeavering Bell in the distance. To the east, you can see the sea, about 11 miles away as the crow flies.

'Twas a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. Back to the flat for a meal, and soon we're off to meet some friends in the pub...
